To the Head of School, Academic Director and Head of STEM

An introduction to Cognita: one intelligent campus for your syllabus, your teachers and your students

Dear Head of School,

I am writing to introduce Cognita, an AI learning platform built in Nairobi for schools that teach to international standards. Cognita is live and in use today. It brings AI tutors, an interactive digital board, interactive 3D lessons, working virtual laboratories, robotics simulation, inclusive-education tools and full school administration together in one place, and grounds all of it in the syllabus your school actually teaches.

International schools often run several curricula side by side, serve students from many countries, and need to show parents clear evidence of progress. Cognita was designed with exactly that in mind. Below is a detailed view of everything it does.

Any syllabusCambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel, CBE and KCSE already running; upload your own

Inclusive by designSpeech therapy, autism and learning-support tools for every learner

Cognita is organised as modules. A school can switch on the whole platform or start with the modules it needs most. Each one is described below, with what it includes.

M01

Interactive Digital Board

The board is where the AI tutor teaches. It works like a live whiteboard that builds itself as the tutor speaks, and students and the tutor can both work on it.

  • The tutor writes headings, key points, worked steps and mathematical formulas while it explains them aloud, and adds images and diagrams where they help.
  • It builds live, working content straight onto the board:
    • simulations a student can adjust;
    • labelled diagrams;
    • code a student can run;
    • learning games;
    • 3D visualisations to rotate and explore;
    • step-by-step practical skill guides;
    • wiring guides for electronics.
  • Both the student and the tutor can operate the controls. The tutor can press a button or turn a 3D model to show something, and every change the student makes is noticed and answered.
  • Students can ask about anything on the board: "why did that change?", "show me that again", "explain it another way".
  • The tutor can bring 3D models from a large online library onto the board and control them while it explains.
  • The whole board session can be exported as a slide deck, so the lesson is kept for revision or for the teacher's own use.
M02

AI Tutors and Practice Partners

Subject tutors and practice partners for every student, taught from the student's own curriculum.

  • Natural spoken conversation. Students call a tutor and talk to it: ask, interrupt, ask again, or describe what they are seeing.
  • Grounded in the syllabus. Tutors teach from the approved content and flag requests that fall outside it.
  • Customisable tutors. Subject, personality and teaching style are set per tutor.
  • Familiar voices. A tutor needs only a recording of a voice to speak in it, so students hear familiar voices and familiar accents.
  • A teacher's own voice and likeness. A teacher can record their voice so the tutor sounds like them, and upload a photo so the tutor appears as a video of them, talking and sounding like them, in live sessions with their students.
  • Practice partners drill exam-style questions, including past-paper questions where a bank exists, and explain every answer.
  • Spoken practice is modelled first: the tutor says each target before the student repeats it.
  • Tutors remember a student's earlier sessions, and every conversation passes a safety check.
M03

CognitaAI Classroom

A complete AI-led lesson on any topic, generated on request and taught in a virtual classroom.

  • A topic becomes a full lesson: an outline, slides, narration, discussion and checks for understanding.
  • An AI teacher and AI classmates discuss the topic, so students hear questions they may not have thought to ask.
  • Quizzes inside the lesson, and interactive scenes built on the board as the lesson runs.
  • Simulations you can talk to. Speak or type a command and the 3D scene builds while you watch, then step in and change it.
  • An orchestrator that drives the app. A student on lesson 2 can ask to jump to lesson 12 and compare the two. CognitaAI opens the lesson, explains the link and keeps track of the request.
  • Lessons export to slides for teachers to reuse.
M04

Curriculum Engine

The syllabus layer under everything else.

Cambridge IGCSEPearson EdexcelCBEKCSEYour own syllabus

  • Upload any syllabus. Tutors, practice partners, AI tools and assessments work from it straight away.
  • Each student is taught the curriculum they are enrolled in, so a school running several curricula serves each one correctly.
  • AI tools are aware of the term, week and topic, so their output matches where the class actually is.
  • Competency tracking on a four-point scale where the curriculum calls for it.
M05

Courses and Course Creator

  • Teachers, departments and parents can author their own courses, publish them to their students, or sell them.
  • An AI course generator drafts the structure and lessons to start from.
  • Lesson types: articles, video, interactive 3D lessons with live charts and controls, hands-on labs, and quizzes.
  • Students track their progress lesson by lesson. Quizzes are marked on the server, and labs complete when their tasks are done.
  • A certificate is issued on completion, with a public link anyone can use to verify it.
  • Invite a whole class or individual students to a course.
M06

STEM Engine Virtual Labs

A full virtual electronics and robotics laboratory, so practical work does not wait for hardware.

  • Boards: Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson and Pixhawk flight controllers.
  • Parts: sensors, motors, servos, drivers, lasers and joysticks, among many others.
  • Wiring is checked by an AI engineer that explains mistakes, and power supplies are sized automatically so motors and servos are never wired unsafely.
  • Every build can be seen in detailed 3D, down to the breadboard and the wire runs.
  • An AI lab assistant answers questions while the student works.
  • Teachers set lab assignments, and the wiring is graded automatically.
M07

Physics Simulation

  • Rovers, robots and drones run in a real physics engine in the browser, built from the parts the student wired.
  • Drone airframes: quad, hexa, tri and bi-copter, on well-known flight controllers.
  • Robot chassis: two-wheel and four-wheel drive.
  • A missing wire shows up as a motor that does not move, so students learn cause and effect.
  • Ready-made scenarios and challenges that lessons can link straight into.
M08

Robotics and Training Bays

  • Asimov Robot Studio. Students assemble the open-source Asimov humanoid and its electronics harness, and run the finished robot in simulation.
  • Robot Training Bays. A trained walking policy runs the humanoid live in physics simulation. Students run challenges such as walking on the Moon or on a slippery floor.
  • Students upload their own trained policies, and the policies are graded automatically.
  • Complete robotics courses, from an introduction to humanoid robotics to advanced humanoid engineering.
M09

AI Tools Library

More than thirty ready-made AI tools, all grounded in the school's syllabus.

  • For students: concept explainer and visualiser, flashcards, mind maps, summaries, key points, mnemonics, quick comparisons, debate and speech preparation, QuizMe, mock tests and a step-by-step problem solver.
  • For teachers: lesson planner, scheme of work, teaching calendar, quiz, homework, worksheet and assignment generators, rubric builder, evaluation assistant, report comments and a differentiation planner.
  • For learner support: IEP builder, access strategies, assessment adaptation, behaviour support plans, transition plans and letters to families.
M10

Assignments and Assessments

  • Set work for a whole class, a group within a class, or an individual student.
  • Assessments use the syllabus's own command words, with mark schemes that show where each mark is earned.
  • Assignments can open straight into the right virtual lab. Practical work there is recorded and graded.
  • Teachers grade and give feedback in one place, and students are notified when work is marked.
  • The assessment process is visible as well as the final answer: what a student tried, where they struggled and how they got there.
M11

Learning Insights and Reports

  • Progress is measured from real activity and written up in plain language, separately for teachers and for parents.
  • Academic performance, course performance and per-student insights for teachers, scoped to the subjects each teacher teaches.
  • Time spent with the AI tutor, with practice partners and in the Hub is shown separately.
  • The tutor alerts the teacher when a student loses focus or falls behind.
M12

Parent Portal

  • Parents link their children's accounts and follow each child's progress, reports and learning insights.
  • Regular email digests about the parent's own child.
  • Oversight of their child's AI conversations.
  • Parents can enrol their children in courses, and create courses of their own for home learning.
  • Invoices and billing in one place.
M13

Inclusive Education

A dedicated area for learners with additional needs, and for the teachers and therapists who support them.

  • Speech therapy:
    • a speech therapy workspace;
    • an AI initial assessment;
    • an articulation ladder;
    • therapy plans with daily activities;
    • an AI speech therapy assistant teachers can talk to in real time.
  • Autism and emotional support:
    • learner profiles;
    • visual schedules;
    • social stories;
    • a communication board (AAC);
    • emotion recognition and regulation;
    • sensory profiles;
    • a calm space;
    • movement breaks;
    • a routine builder;
    • an ABC behaviour log;
    • individual support plans.
  • Learning support:
    • dyslexia and numeracy support;
    • attention and focus;
    • fine and gross motor skills;
    • handwriting analysis;
    • daily living skills.
  • Caseload management, a clinical profile per learner, and personalised assignments.
M14

Writing Workspace

  • A notebook where students write and sketch freely.
  • The AI coaches with questions instead of handing out answers. It helps students plan, find gaps, strengthen arguments and check their reasoning.
M15

Interstellar Hub

  • A shared 3D world where students meet, chat and learn together, with grade rooms that teachers can open as class sessions.
  • Avatar Studio: personal 3D avatars, including a 3D face built from a single photo, with gestures and expressions.
  • Space Dashboard: students earn Cogs and buy spaceships in the marketplace, then upgrade them with the circuits and devices they build in the STEM Engine. Engineering skill turns into progress in the game.
M16

School Platform and Administration

  • Each school gets its own domain, its own database and its own branded platform.
  • Year groups, classes and groups, with whole-class invitations and enrolment.
  • Roles for students, teachers, parents and administrators, with connections and messaging between them.
  • A calendar and a shared resource library.
  • Control of AI usage and costs through a Cogs balance, with usage analytics and a choice of AI models.
  • An AI back office: optional agents for administration, leadership reporting and planning, and departments such as admissions, marketing, finance and student support, plus a built-in CRM.
  • Tertiary programmes: a lecturer panel and diploma programmes for colleges.
M17

Safety and Data Protection

  • Student messages, Hub chat and AI-generated images pass a safety check. Concerns go to the school's administrators for review.
  • Student records and paid content are protected at the database level, not only in the interface.
  • Photos used for 3D faces are processed on the student's own device, and the photo itself is never uploaded.

What we would like to propose

  1. A 30-minute live demonstration for your leadership team, using your own syllabus.
  2. A short pilot with one class or department, for example IGCSE Physics or your robotics club.
  3. A review of the pilot's results with your team, and a plan for a school-wide rollout if it suits you.

I would welcome the chance to show you Cognita working with your curriculum and your teachers. You can see the platform at www.cognita.co.ke, or reply to this letter to arrange a time that suits your team.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely,
