KCSE Chemistry

Chemistry,
Bench Included

Twenty-two Paper 3 practicals in a 3D lab — titrations, flame tests, cation and anion tests, rates and energy changes — plus a Chemistry tutor for Papers 1 and 2 and a Practice Buddy for your past papers. Repeat every practical until the method is yours.

Titration apparatus in the 3D chemistry lab

The 22 Practicals

Each one seeds new concentrations, masses and temperatures every run, so the end-point you find today is not the one you will find tomorrow.

  • Titration: hydrochloric acid with sodium hydroxide
  • Titration: finding the concentration of sulfuric acid
  • Titration: sodium carbonate with hydrochloric acid (methyl orange)
  • Titration: diluting an acid, then finding its concentration
  • Redox titration: potassium manganate(VII) with iron(II) sulfate
  • Acids, bases and indicators
  • Preparing oxygen from hydrogen peroxide
  • Preparing hydrogen from zinc and dilute acid
  • Reactions of lithium, sodium and potassium with water
  • Preparing carbon(IV) oxide from marble chips
  • The effect of heat on carbonates, hydrated salts and nitrates
  • Flame tests for metal ions
  • Testing for the ammonium ion
  • Tests for alkenes, alkanols and alkanoic acids
  • Identifying cations with sodium hydroxide and ammonia
  • Precipitation reactions and anion tests
  • Heat of neutralisation
  • Heat of neutralisation from a temperature–time graph
  • Endothermic and exothermic dissolving
  • Rate of reaction: marble chips and acid
  • Rate of reaction: sodium thiosulfate and acid
  • Rate of reaction: concentration (the disappearing cross)

Papers 1 And 2

A CHEMISTRY TUTOR

Ask by voice or text. It teaches the mole, structure and bonding, organic chemistry, electrochemistry and the rest from the KCSE syllabus, and writes the working on a board you can read back.

PRACTICE BUDDY

Drills you from the syllabus or from the Chemistry past paper you upload, marks your answers and explains the marking scheme.

REPEAT THE HARD ONES

Reset any practical and run it again with new values, and ask the buddy for another question on the topic you keep missing.

Questions

Which Chemistry practicals come up most in KCSE Paper 3?

Titration (acid–base and redox), qualitative analysis of an unknown salt, rates of reaction and energy changes appear in almost every year's paper. All of them are on the bench here, each in several variations.

Can I do a titration on a phone?

Yes. You fill the burette, run it into the flask, watch the indicator change and read the volume, on an ordinary phone screen. Over- or under-shooting the end-point is marked exactly as it would be at a real bench.

Is this free?

You can try a KCSE Practice Buddy as a guest with no sign-up. A free account unlocks the labs and lets you upload your own past papers. Premium adds unlimited tutor time; see the pricing page for the current price in Kenyan shillings.

Which KCSE subjects are covered?

The 3D labs cover the three sciences — Chemistry, Physics and Biology Paper 3. The Practice Buddy and the AI tutors cover the whole KCSE syllabus, Form 1 to Form 4, and will revise any past paper you upload.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Everything runs in the browser on an ordinary smartphone over mobile data. The labs are 3D but built to run on low-end phones.
