Your Free Toolkit: Gemini, Gemini Image Generation, Veo, and CapCut
The Four Tools, One at a Time
1. Gemini (gemini.google.com)
Gemini is Google's conversational AI. In this course it plays three roles:
- Strategist — brainstorming campaign ideas, audience angles, content calendars.
- Copywriter — captions, hooks, ad copy, hashtags, video scripts.
- Image generator — Gemini can generate and edit images directly inside the same chat window, so your research, your copy, and your visuals can come from one conversation.
Sign in with any free Google account. No credit card required for the free tier.
2. Gemini Image Generation
When you ask Gemini to "generate an image of...", it uses Google's native image generation model built into Gemini. You do not need a separate app — you type a prompt into the same Gemini chat and an image appears in the conversation, which you can then ask Gemini to revise ("make the background darker," "remove the text," "make it square for Instagram").
This is different from older image generators that required a separate site and a totally new prompt each time. Because it's conversational, you can iterate — Module 2 teaches this in depth.
3. Veo, via Gemini
Veo is Google's video generation model. On the Gemini free tier, video generation is available with daily/monthly limits that change over time — always check the current limit inside the Gemini app before planning a shoot day around it. The workflow is the same conversational pattern: describe the shot, get a short clip, ask for a revision or a follow-up shot.
Because free-tier video generations are the most limited resource in this stack, Module 3 teaches you to storyboard before you generate — plan every clip on paper first, so you never burn a generation on a shot you didn't actually need.
4. CapCut (capcut.com or the CapCut mobile/desktop app)
CapCut is a free video editor originally built for short-form content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts). You will not generate anything new in CapCut — its job is to take the raw clips and images from Gemini and Veo and turn them into a finished, captioned, branded video: trimming, adding text, adding music, adding transitions, and exporting in the right size for each platform.

How the Four Tools Talk to Each Other
A typical production session in this course looks like:
- Open Gemini. Ask it to help you plan the concept and write the video script (Module 3).
- Still in Gemini, generate the images you need — product shots, backgrounds, thumbnails (Module 2).
- Still in Gemini, generate the video clips with Veo, using your script as the prompt source (Module 3).
- Download the clips and images, open CapCut, and assemble, caption, and polish the final video (Module 4).
- Back in Gemini, write the caption, hashtags, and posting plan (Module 5).
One browser tab and one free app cover the entire pipeline.
Two More Google Labs Tools Worth Knowing
The four above are the core pipeline this course teaches step by step. These two are optional extras from Google Labs (labs.google) — genuinely useful for this kind of work, free to try, but not required to complete any lesson here.
5. Pomelli (labs.google.com/pomelli)
Pomelli is Google Labs' AI marketing tool, built with Google DeepMind. You give it your business's website, and it analyzes it to build a "Business DNA" profile — your brand's tone of voice, colors, and imagery — then generates campaign ideas and on-brand assets (social posts, ad creative, site content) from that profile. Free during its public beta.
Where it fits in this course: a fast way to get a first draft campaign concept and brand-consistent assets before you refine them by hand with Gemini (Module 5) and CapCut (Module 4) — useful for the capstone project in Module 9 if you want a starting point rather than a blank page.
6. Google Flow (flow.google)
Flow is Google's dedicated AI filmmaking studio, built on Veo and Gemini's video models — a more capable alternative to generating video through a plain Gemini chat (which Module 3 teaches as the default path). Flow adds multi-shot continuity (a whole sequence, not one clip at a time), more control over individual frames, and audio generated together with the footage. Free tier: 50 credits/day, max 720p, 8 seconds per clip, with a visible watermark on free-tier output.
Where it fits in this course: once you're comfortable with the storyboard-first workflow Module 3 teaches, Flow is worth trying for a sequence of shots that need to stay consistent (the same product, the same setting) across multiple clips — something a single Gemini chat prompt struggles to hold onto.
