Sign in free, open a buddy or your subject tutor and share the paper or mark scheme: a PDF, a scan or a photo of the pages. It reads it and starts at question 1.
ANSWER, GET MARKED
Type or say your answer. It is marked against the paper, with the marks you earned and the words the mark scheme was looking for, then the next question.
COME BACK TOMORROW
Your sessions are saved on your account, so you can pick the paper up where you left it. Short sessions, every day, beat one long night.
WORKED ON THE BOARD
Every explanation is written out on an interactive board as it is spoken: the equation, the diagram, the essay plan. Read it back, copy it into your notes, ask for it another way.
No Paper To Hand?
The tutor sets its own exam-style questions from the specification for any subject and any year, so you can revise a unit before you ever open a past paper.
We do not republish Pearson's papers. You bring the paper you are entitled to use — from school, a revision book or Pearson's own site — and the buddy helps you learn from it.
Questions
Do you have Edexcel past papers on the site?
We do not host Pearson's papers. You upload the one you have and the buddy revises it with you. That keeps us on the right side of copyright and means it works with whatever paper you are actually sitting.
Which subjects and years work?
Any Edexcel paper the buddy can read: all subjects, any year, iPrimary to A Level. Scanned papers work if the text is legible.
Where do the answers come from?
From the Pearson Edexcel specification and the files you upload, and nothing else. The tutors and buddies are grounded in the units listed on these pages and in the past papers, notes and mark schemes you give them; they do not invent facts or pull from the open internet. Your syllabus and your files are the only truth they teach from.
Is this free?
A free account gives you the tutors with a daily allowance, the 3D labs and the Practice Buddies. Premium adds unlimited tutor time; the pricing page has the current price in Kenyan shillings, and schools and homeschooling families pay the same.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Everything runs in the browser on an ordinary smartphone over mobile data, including the 3D labs.
Do you register candidates for the exams?
No. Pearson Edexcel exams are sat at a registered Pearson centre; homeschooled learners enter as private candidates. CognitaSTEM teaches and revises the specification and tells you where a learner stands before the exam.
