How It Works

A QUESTION AT A TIME

The buddy asks a real KPSEA question, you answer by voice or text, it marks and explains, then the next one. Short sessions that fit between chores.

THE BANK

560 questions from national pre-mock and end-of-term Grade 6 papers: Mathematics, Kiswahili, English, Agriculture and Nutrition, Science and Technology, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Religious Education (CRE, IRE, HRE), Creative Arts and Sports, French, German.

OR BRING YOUR OWN

Upload a paper your school set, a PDF, scan or photo, and the buddy revises that one instead.

WORKED ON THE BOARD

Every explanation is written out on an interactive board as it is spoken: the sum, the diagram, the Kiswahili sentence. Read it back, copy it into your notes, ask for it another way.

For Parents

A parent linked to the account sees which questions were attempted, which came back wrong and which learning areas need time, from the parent dashboard. Mwadime, the practice partner, matches the learner's grade for the ones who want a study companion rather than an examiner.

Questions

Are these real KPSEA questions?

They are from Grade 6 national pre-mock and end-of-term assessment papers supplied for the purpose, 560 in all, marked question by question. We do not republish KNEC's own papers; you can upload those yourself.

Which learning areas?

Mathematics, Kiswahili, English, Agriculture and Nutrition, Science and Technology, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Religious Education (CRE, IRE, HRE), Creative Arts and Sports, French, German.

Where do the answers come from?

From the KICD curriculum designs, the schemes of work and the files you upload, and nothing else. Every Mwalimu is grounded in the strands and sub-strands of their learning area and band; they do not invent facts or pull from the open internet. Your syllabus and your files are the only truth they teach from.

Is it CBC or CBE?

The same curriculum. Kenya renamed Competency Based Curriculum to Competency Based Education; the learning areas, strands and the KPSEA and KJSEA assessments are unchanged. CognitaSTEM uses the current name.

Is this free?

A free account gives you the tutors with a daily allowance, the KPSEA Practice Buddy, the 3D labs and the parent dashboard. Premium adds unlimited tutor time; the pricing page has the current price in Kenyan shillings.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Everything runs in the browser on an ordinary smartphone over mobile data, including the 3D labs.
